Laboratory Technician – Roemex

Location: Portlethen, Aberdeen
Salary: £13.45 per hour (Real Living Wage alignment)
Contract: Fixed term contract (6 months) – full-time, 35 hours per week.

Are you a recent Chemistry graduate or an early-career laboratory professional based in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire?

Roemex is looking for a motivated Graduate/Junior Laboratory Chemist to join our team on an initial six-month fixed-term contract. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical industrial experience through real customer projects, product development, quality-control testing and laboratory evaluations across the energy industry.

Your Core Responsibilities and Tasks

· Works safely and effectively in a laboratory environment

· Performs QC testing on raw materials and formulated products

· Perform daily and weekly QC equipment calibrations as required

· Prepares and packages samples and equipment for sample dispatch

· Logs all incoming and outgoing samples

· Orders consumables and maintains laboratory stock levels.

· Tests drain samples and reports results as required

· Elastomer compatibility testing

· Metal coupon compatibility testing

· Chemical compatibility testing

· Assists chemists and senior chemists in project work

What We’re Looking For

· Qualification to degree level in Chemistry, or similar, OR proven experience in a laboratory environment

· Working knowledge of Microsoft office packages – Wod, Excel, Teams etc.

The position is based at our Portlethen facility and requires on-site attendance throughout the working week. It is not a remote or hybrid role, so applicants must be able to commute reliably to Portlethen.
